Many houses here were dorms for employees & were built during the Japanese occupation time.
The whole park is quite big. So maybe renting one of those bikes we see around here would've been a btter idea (especially when it was so hot outside!!)
The neighbourhood here in the park is a bit like a small creative market where people gather to get some snacks or some leisurely walk.
Some store sell pretty interesting things here (eg. plates/bowls/utensils made from corn starch).
The stalls here on a weekend.
Built in the 1940, this was the former residence for the Sugar Refinery's Top Manager. This building seems to be in a good shape mainly because it was restored in 2010. The building where the other resided nearby just looked like ruins.
這邊還有這種 "Believe it or Not" 的館...
The "Believe it or Not" kind of place.
The building here was built in 1901 and was used as a "club". The large space in front of it back in the Japanese occupation days were used by the Japanese army for training.
There are houses with different display documenting the history of sugar making in Taiwan.
There the old trains on display and ones that you can actually ride on (for sightseeing/experience).
The site of the old sugar refinery. Too bad it wasn't open when we got there so we just decided to walk back to the MRT. (there's another drum cultural park behind it but it was too hot and we were too tired so we decided to give up on that).
